It is preliminarily calculated that the GDP of 2002 was
140.6 billion Yuan, 14.1% higher than that of previous year.
Among them, the first industry rose 11.84 billion Yuan,
increased by 6.2%, the second industry rose 66.11 billion
Yuan, increased by 15.1%, and the tertiary industry rose
62.65 billion Yuan, increased by 14.8%. The proportion of
these three industries was 8.4:47:44.6. The per capita GDP
amounted to 25276 Yuan, which roughly equaled to 3050 US
dollars.
[Fiscal Taxation]
In 2002, the regular budget income in local finance was
9.87 billion Yuan, increased by 16.6% than that of the previous
year, among which the regular budget income of the municipality
was 4.352 billion Yuan, increased by 11.8% and the counties
and districts was 13.11 billion Yuan, increased by 14.3%
than that of the previous year. Of these, the expenses on
3 items related to science and technology, rural production
aid and social welfare as well as pensions and social aid
increased by 19.4%, 23.1% and 115.8% respectively. The national
tax and regional tax added up to 17.99 billion Yuan (excluding
6 billion Yuan of tariff levied by customs on behalf of
others.) The national tax bureau levied 10.24 billion Yuan
of various taxes, up 11.5% calculated in terms of comparable
items. Among them, value added tax income was 7.705 billion
Yuan, increased by 15.4%. The local tax bureau levied 50
million Yuan of various taxes, which in fact rose 1.02 billion
Yuan and increased by 15.2%. Of these, the business tax
together with the personal income tax added up to 900 million
Yuan, taking up 90% of the total amount increased.

In 2002, Dalian resident consumer price index was 98%, among
which consumer goods price index and service item price
index were 97.7% and 98.6% respectively.
